4 Places to Watch Fireworks on the 4th of July in NYC

The Macy’s 4th of July fireworks show ALMOST rivals their Thanksgiving Day parade blow-out. Here are four options of places to catch the show:

  • Budget option: Head all the way west to the West Side Highway and 12th Ave. The cops will be shutting down the road starting at 2PM but you can access the party from 11th Ave at the following streets: 24th Street, 26th-27th Streets, 29th Street, 33rd-34th Streets, 40th Street, 42nd Street, 44th Street, 50th Street, 52nd Street, 54th Street and 56th-57th Streets.
  • Pay to play option: Circle Line cruises is hosting a Pier Party on the Hudson. $89 gets you access to stellar views of the show and live music. Food and drinks will be available but are not included in the ticket price.
  • Baller option: For only $225, you’ll get access to the wrap around rooftop at Press Lounge at Ink48, four hours of open bar, and passed hors d’oeuvres with your view of the exploding lights. Warning: this party requires you to leave your red, white, and blue fanny pack at home. For reservations, e-mail reservations@printrestaurant.com.
  • Most realistic New Yorker option: Call your friends, grab a few beers, and head to your rooftop or a nearby friend’s spot. You’ll skip the crowds, anxiety, and pretension, save a boatload of cash, and end up with a nice buzz. Sounds pretty good to us.

One thing to note: Jersey’s not doing fireworks this year so don’t count on catching that display as an alternative to the Macy’s show.
