Every Friday for our all hands meeting, we select one cocktail to enjoy as a group. This week, Lee offered up a cheers to patriotism with his Obama Home Sweet Home. The pineapple here showcases Obama’s Hawaiian roots and the Kentucky whiskey is definitely all-American.
Obama Home Sweet Home
1.5 oz. bourbon (we used Elijah Craig)
0.75 oz. pineapple juice
0.75 oz simple syrup
Slash of soda water
Lime wedge
In a highball glass, combine the bourbon, simple syrup and pineapple juice. Add ice and stir. Fill with soda. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Every Friday for our all hands meeting, we select one cocktail to enjoy as a group. This week, with the weather getting colder, we decided to heat it up and make this rich buttered cider concoction.
Beware: you may want to play with the butter-cider-alcohol ratio. This makes a very buttery drink and left the majority of our team in an odd butter-induced haze post-drinking.
Hot Buttered Apple Cider Rum
1/2 gallon fresh apple cider
2 small navel oranges, thinly sliced
4 oz. butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
8-10 cinnamon sticks
2 cups rum (we used Bacardi)
Melt butter in a large saucepan, then add oranges and brown sugar, stirring until oranges caramelize. Add all other ingredients, except the rum, and cook until hot.
Remove from heat, add alcohol, pour into glasses, and enjoy!
